GENRE:

Supernatural Mystery Drama

VERDUN is a haunting supernatural crime thriller set in a small Australian town where grief festers, secrets linger, and silence is its oldest ritual. When the body of 15-year-old David Hart — already marked by rumour and accusation — is discovered beneath a bridge, the community grieves what appears to be another tragic suicide.

But questions surface, and for Detective Vanessa Armfield, sent from the city to assist the local police, those questions awaken an older riddle — the death of her father, long dismissed as an accident. To solve David’s death is to solve her own.

Working alongside Caleb Gates, a jaded officer caught between duty and dynasty, Vanessa confronts not only the cover-up surrounding David’s death but the long shadow of her father’s. As she’s drawn deeper into Verdun’s liminal spaces — visions of a drifter in rags, a blind child whispering riddles, a slaughterhouse of hanging carcasses — the line between investigation and revelation blurs.

In the end, VERDUN becomes more than a mystery. It is a reckoning — of a boy silenced by rumour, a detective blinded by her own inheritance, and a town that survives by turning away. To solve him is to solve herself. And the price of silence is finally revealed.
